Stop. Hold off. Desist. Read no further! Ok, you’re not going to do what I advise? Very well. You’re wasting valuable time you could be using to buy a jar of this sauce. It is excellent. It has a very well balanced flavor which is just the right amount of sweet, spicy, smoky, and tangy. Go buy yourself a jar or two. You won’t regret it. Go now!

Several years ago I met a fellow who was, with his brother, making the best BBQ sauces I ever tasted and I used them exclusively, even gifting them to my grilling friends. Then he retired and moved away so I set out to find equivalent flavors online. This is my new molasses favorite. It’s on the pricey side but I don’t eat baby back ribs that often. Recommend.

I have several Rub with Love products and have the highest opinion of them. They’re a staple in my house. My family and I frequently smoke ribs in summer and so I purchased both the Rub with Love BBQ Sauce and Pork Rub. I was eager to make ribs and smoked a beautiful couple of racks last week. I applied the rub generously 2 hours before smoking and finished with the sauce as a glaze. Four of us ate the ribs and all four agreed they were the most flavorless ribs I have ever made. An ancho molasses sauce sounds great. Unfortunately it’s not.

I disliked the taste of spicy 🌶

Used it for ribs. Great flavor with a little bit.

My, oh, my! This BBQ sauce delivers a perfect balance of Ancho and molasses. At first whiff, the powerful aroma of molasses gave me cause to pause — but when applied to a half-rack of pork ribs, it was love at every bite. Yes, I’ve tried a wide range of sauces from all of the various US persuasions (and like most styles). No, I’m neither a purist nor a “there’s only one way” snob. This is good stuff — and one of my new favorites from Tom Douglas.

Cover came off. It was a mess.
